Spring Cleaning

Yesterday, I only meant to vacuum one part of the house because I’d tracked in mud. I ended up vacuuming the whole house, and then washed the downstairs blankets. Today, I’m doing the rest of the laundry and the bedsheets. Tomorrow will be the bathroom…and probably the windows. Because once I start the spring cleaning like this, I can’t stop until it’s finished πŸ™‚

This also happens when I go through my book collection, which I did a couple of weeks ago. All I wanted to do was rearrange a few books because I’d culled through them and pulled several to donate to the local library (I do this twice a year, and yet the size of my book collection doesn’t seem to change…). I ended up spending close to two hours moving around books and rearranging the shelves. I have my books shelved in a specific way; one set of shelves is for finished books, the other set of shelves is for ongoing series, and one forΒ non-fiction books and poetry. The books are also placed by author and genre (YA books, urban fantasy, epic fantasy, romance, mystery…etc), and then by paperback, trade paperback, and hardcover.

I’m one of those people who are a touch OCD about my books being even on the shelves. This is an issue when an author goes from paperback to hardcover. Sometimes, I just have to suck it up and deal with it (which is not an easy feat for me), and other times I can replace the beginning paperback books when the publisher releases then in hardcover (which doesn’t always happen).

With romance and mystery, that isn’t too much of an issue, as most of the authors I buy are solely paperback πŸ™‚

Does anyone else have those quirks with their bookshelves? I can’t be the only one πŸ™‚

When I’m not switching the laundry around or folding it…or putting it back on the bed, I’ll be doing some writing. I’m working on a couple of projects, and really enjoying the stories. I’m hoping to have updates soon, so stay tuned!

Edits and Updates

Hello, my lovely readers πŸ™‚

First round edits for Claimed by the Wolf (Green Mountain Shifters, book three), arrived today! I’ll be working on those the next couple of days. This one is a bit longer than the first two in the series, and I think you’re going to love the expansion of the shifter world in this one. You get to see what it’s like to be a new shifter, and what the bonds are between the bitten and the attacker. You get a peek at foreign shifter politics because our hero is from the England pack- one of the sons of the Alpha πŸ™‚ Can’t wait for you all to read this one! ❀

I’m also working on an anthology story that I’m hoping to finish within the next two weeks, and I have another paranormal romance in the works. I’m almost done with the first novel in a new trilogy that has an erotic touch, filled with monsters and mayhem, and love (of course πŸ™‚ ).

Hopefully I’ll have the cover for Claimed by the Wolf soon so I can share it. This one is coming from Evernight Publishing sometime next month!

Lazy Sunday: Writing

Hope everyone has had a great Sunday!

I got up, showered, and then got into a pair of clean pajamas πŸ™‚ I did get a few things accomplished this weekend…besides laundry and perusing the interwebs LOL

*I finished editing/revising the third and final book in the Green Mountain Shifters series (my Romance on the Go series). I’ve submitted it to my publisher and am now waiting to hear back. So keep your fingers crossed!

*I wrote about 2k on a new paranormal series. Don’t want to say too much on that right now, but I’m really enjoying the characters πŸ™‚

*I also wrote down a few ideas for new books, that I plan to write over the next year. And yes, for those who’ve asked, one of those books is the sequel to Son of Thunder ❀

I’ve almost finished my Christmas shopping. The list wasn’t long- just some for the kiddos in my life- and I have one more left to buy.

And that’s about it for my Sunday πŸ˜€ Don’t forget that An Island Christmas is only $0.99 until this Friday, December 16th!

$2.99 for THREE BOOKS.

It’s also available in print for $14.99 (a great price for three books πŸ™‚ )

I just saw the Beauty and the Beast trailer- so excited to see this one! I love Emma Watson, and I’m a big fan of Luke Evans πŸ˜€ I’ve seen pretty much all of the Beauty and the Beast retellings for tv and movies, and I lean toward not liking most of them, but this one I’ll pay good money to see πŸ™‚

First Week of Release

Thank you to everyone leaving a review of Son of Thunder! I’m so happy to hear from readers that they’re enjoying the book πŸ™‚ My nerves were shot worrying about whether or not you would LOL

Release nerves are a real thing, and they can be a overwhelming.

I keep getting asked if this is the start of series. Here’s my answer: I’m not sure. I left it open on purpose, so that I could write more books in Liv and Rune’s world. They may not star in them, but they will make appearances, of course. I have started writing a sequel, I can tell you that. I just can’t make promises when it will be finished and released.

I hope you all have a fantastic Saturday! I will leave you with a sexy teaser πŸ™‚ Click on the photo to go to the buy links and an excerpt.

Lazy Sunday~ Ghost Whisperer

I’m getting behind on my non-writing blogging- shame on me!

Today, I’m having a little Ghost Whisperer marathon (of Season Five) and taking a little break from writing. I’ve made great headway on the novella, as well getting another chapter in on a secret project. If I feel compelled to write, of course I will, but for now I’m just relaxing with the show…and maybe my insomnia-suffering self may get a nap in as well πŸ˜€

I’ve enjoyedΒ Ghost Whisperer since the first season. The premise of the show hooked me (no surprise there πŸ™‚ ) and I enjoyed the storylines and cast, even though plotlines moved slightly slower than I thought they should at times.

As much as I liked the first season, it wasn’t until the second season that I really fell in love with the show. The cast and writers seemed to really hit their groove and the show improved so much in that second season. Β We started to see glimpses of Melinda’s past, and her interactions with both ghosts and the living affected by them were much better paced and far more emotional. And I loved the addition of Delia and Nate!

I loved season three. It’s one of my favorite seasons out of the five, and the main reason for that is the storylines surrounding Grandview, Melinda’s family connection to it, and Delia and Professor Payne’s meatier storylines. The writers really rounded out the casts’ personal and professional lives and I felt incredibly connected to each one of them.

The addition of Eli in season four was a nice touch. It did take me a few episodes to warm to him completely, though. There were parts of season four that I did not like (more on that at the end of this post), but overall it was a nice season…though it wasn’t my favorite.

Season Five is my favorite season of them all. I loved the addition of Aiden and the storylines surrounding him and Melinda. I loved Delia’s and Eli’s plotlines as well. The ghosts got a bit scarier and the depth of Melinda’s gift was shown beautifully. For the most part, I think they closed the show well, though I wasn’t quite ready to say goodbye. I do think the last episode was a tad rushed, considering the build-up that started pretty much in the first episode.

Here come the spoilers!!!

The only issue I had with the show was Jim’s death in Season Four. While I understand that the actor wanted a bigger role, and they wanted to show the depth of Mel and Jim’sΒ devotion to each other, they failed on one big front- they pretty much threw all of that out in Season Five after the first episode. They stopped showing the Jim’s new body, and they even referred to him as Jim in public. So it felt like Jim never died in Season Four and that whole journey back to Melinda was wasted. If they were going to all but ignore his death in Season Five, they shouldn’t have killed him in Season Four. There were plenty of options to chose from besides death to handle that whole situation.

Other than that, the show is still one of my favorites. I have all the seasons on dvd and watch them pretty regularly πŸ™‚ I miss seeing new episodes, though I’m not sure where else they could have taken the characters after that last episode.

So off I go to watch Season Five- currently I’m on Head Over Heels πŸ˜€

Lazy Sunday: Haven

I am staying out of the heat and humidity today and watching my dvds of Haven πŸ™‚ I’m currently on season three of my rewatch. One of my favorite episodes is now on- Real Estate.

I’m hoping to get in some good writing time at some point today, and tomorrow. I made great headway on the paranormal romance I’m working on- about 2100 additional words written. I’m pretty excited about it, as I think this novella will turn into a series πŸ™‚

I hope you all have a safe and happy Memorial Day, and take a moment to remember those who have fallen to give us our freedom.

I’m going to leave you today with the Haven Season 3 Gag Reel πŸ˜€
