Resolutions. Or, What I Have Planned for 2015!
I no longer say “Starting on the first of the year, I’m going to lose weight/go to the Caribbean/stop drinking soda”…etc. In place of that, I say “This year I’d like to do this, and these are the changes I have to make to get there.” I make a list in my head of things I’d like to do in the New Year, then try and push towards those goals/ideas, with no expectations—just a list of things I’d like to accomplish.
For 2015, this is my short list of WRITING goals:
- Finish writing Sherilyn and Kade’s story (which is hinted at in An Island Christmas). These two are very fun to write!
- Finish writing a Valentine’s Day story I started writing in September, about a cupid and her charge. This is more of a fantasy romance, instead of a paranormal one.
- Start writing the Christmas romance novel idea I came up with in October. It’s been itching to be told!
About Kade and Sherilyn: I never expected to write a non-paranormal romance, so when An Island Christmas came into my mind, I was completely surprised! To say the least LOL. I thought that would be it, just the one, but I was wrong—Sher and Kade started talking to me shortly after I started edits on An Island Christmas. I’ve only written one chapter of their story, but they are such a fun pair that I’m very much looking forward to finishing their tale 🙂 She’s a spitfire, and he’s quite the charmer…but she’s not giving him an easy time of sweeping her off her feet!
Here’s a little snippet of them in An Island Christmas:
After cleaning up, they dressed and headed back to the main house to join Sherilyn and Kade for breakfast. The two were preparing breakfast—insisting on doing so since technically Blue had made it the day before.
“How was your night, Sher?” she asked, winking at her friend.
Sherilyn glared. “I had a good night’s rest. And it had nothing to do with him.” She gestured to Kade, who grinned.
Blue looked to Kade. “Couldn’t manage to share a bed, huh?”
He shrugged, then put a hand on one of his hips. He pointed at Sherilyn with the other hand. “She wouldn’t give in to my charms.”
“Losing your touch, bro?” Constant teased.
“Man, not funny. I might be!”
Sherilyn huffed, then rolled her eyes. “Just help me cook breakfast, Kade.”
Laughing, Blue turned from the kitchen and walked over to the Christmas tree, taking a picture of it with the tropical scenery beyond the window mixed in.
She jumped a little as someone put something on her head. She turned to see a grinning Constant. “What are you doing?”
“This.” He showed her the green Santa’s hat, then put it back on her head, arranging it so it wouldn’t fall off.
“Oh now, this is perfect,” Sherilyn said, grinning at them. “Kade finish breakfast so I can get a picture!”
